That's right... 7 days. Next Tuesday is the big day. Two years of endless campaigning, debating, and mudslinging has finally come to this moment.

I have all of next week off work. I have plenty of popcorn and soda ready for Tuesday night. Can you tell that I'm ready and anxious? :P

How about riot predictions?

Obama wins, celabratory riots in LA, Detroit, D.C., Atlanta

McCain wins, no riots in Fargo, ND, Cody, WY, and College Station, Tx.

I'm trying to figure out what companies make and sell tear gas and mace. I think they will report significantly higher year-over-year sales for the 4th qtr. Should be a good buy this week.

Mind you, I hope I'm wrong. But this there is way too much emotion built up for this election. More than a championship for for a basketball team. More than a verdict on a police beating.

You know you are thinking it, too. It is a big gorilla.

I am more worried about race riots occurring in the unlikely event that Senator Obama loses. I fear that it could be really ugly for a long time.

I will bet $50 that the only riots that break out after Obama wins next week will be the riots started by the neo-Nazis and the KKK in Alabama, Mississippi, and South Carolina.

More bad news for Mr. McCain. New polls today indicate that he is in danger of losing Georgia and he might now be forced to defend his home state of Arizona.

Arizona (Arizona State University poll)
McCain - 46%
Obama - 44%

Georgia (Insider Advantage poll)
McCain - 48%
Obama - 47%

The chances of Mr. Obama winning one or both of these states are very small... but if you're in the McCain campaign, these are definitely not numbers that you want to see from two states that should be in the bag for McCain.

I would be inclined to take that bet, but it would involve me actually hoping/benefitting for something bad to happen, so I won't.

Maybe a gentlemans' bet. The winner sends the loser an Avitar that the user must use until inaguration. Would you be inclined to such a wager?

I don't know. If I win, maybe a modified ES picuture of you wearing a Pailin '12 tank. Something tasteful like that. :D

That's a good one, provided that you spell Palin's name right. :P

I'll have to create something now. Maybe I'll use the McCain/Palin logo and font as my model and type something tasteful like "Republicans for Obama" or "McPwned by Nelly".

Nelly,

I know you think it isn't even remotely within the realm of possibility, but I'm curious how you will react if Senator McCain somehow manages to win this thing. Have you even thought about that?

Actually, I'm reasonably certain that Senator Obama is going to win, but I do see that it is not a foregone conclusion.

When William Buckley ran for mayor of New York, he was asked what his first act would be after being sworn in.

He had two answers:

"Put a net outside the windows of the editorial offices of the New York Times."

"Demand a recount."
I am about 25% sure of this.
