However, some lies are way worse than others, and that dictates how worked up I'll get over them.

Your mileage may vary.

Inre the Bush/Williams comparison: why is that a comparison brought up at all? We're talking about a news celebrity versus presidential actions. We could bring up Clinton's perjury which would be just as stupid. Keep on task people.

I didn't have a lot of time to run this down, so I apologize that this clip is four years old.

So Jon Stewart is your standard bearer for truth? A guy hosting a comedy show? O.K.

Stewart is intentionally funny; the Fox News reporters are unintentionally funny.

And please point out which of Stewart's criticisms of Fox News in the clip was incorrect.

It does say a lot about the media that to get trustworthy reporting, you have to rely on a comedian.

Thanks for pointing that out, BiT!!

Now no future president, of either party, would ever take that precedent-setting power and expand it 'just a bit further' now would he or she?

BUT...

Back to ol' slow jammin' the truth Brian Williams:

Looks like his helicopter ride with Seal Team 6 is under question.

As his is meeting the Pope, Hurricane Katrina, saving puppies as a firefighter, and, the latest, is his "being at the Brandenburg Gate" when the Wall fell.

Do you mean Anwar Al-Awlaki? In November 2010, he was being tried in absentia in Yemen for killing a Frenchman, Jacques Spagnolo. Judge Moshen Allwan ordered him "arrested by force, dead or alive." That may not be justice by our standards, but Al-Awlaki went to Yemen and that's the law there. Then Al-Awlaki's father and the ACLU asked U.S. Judge John Bates to prohibit the government from killing Al-Awlaki, but the judge wouldn't. That's more due process than most Guantánamo prisoners got.

Flock, did you even look at that Jon Stewart clip I included and the many instances in which Politifact called Fox News on the carpet for flat out lies. Are there any of those misstatements you'd care to challenge? Or do you just want to continue to indulge your fantasy that because Fox News tells you what you want to hear, it's fair and balanced.

Pay a prostitute enough money and she'll tell you anything you want to hear and probably sound more convincing than the Fox News people. It doesn't make her fair or balanced or correct.

Perhaps I missed it. Has Fox announced its investigation of Bill O'Reilly yet? I'll note that when the allegations about Williams came to light, NBC News promptly began an investigation. Fox, not so much. --Bob

Hahaha. I don't think you've watched Mr. O'Reilly's show recently. I won't even respond to this. If you want to know why I'm laughing at you, do your own frickin research. You might actually learn something.

And don't you think the timing of this is interesting? Of course not.

So they're letting him investigate himself?

The real issue is that few people who watch Fox care whether O'Reilly is telling the truth or not, and neither does Fox management. The White House got it right when they referred to "NBC News" and "Fox." --Bob

Allison Williams (Peter Pan Live) has defended her father and postponed her wedding.

Even more embarrassing than Williams or O'Reilly, VA Secretary Robert McDonald was caught telling a homeless Special Forces vet that he, too, was in the Special Forces.

VA Secretary Robert McDonald Apologizes for Misstating He Served in Special Forces

The Stolen Valor laws prohibit lies about military accomplishments for monetary gain, but not offhand remarks. Nevertheless, McDonald, a West Point grad and former Army Captain, should know better.
