I think this Bored must exist in some alternate universe to which I have been denied entry, because none of the stuff in the quoted post rings a bell, much less makes any sense to me.

But one thing was kind of interesting to me, the line about

Nonetheless, anybody who is as ignorant, stubborn, arrogant, selfish, disrespectful, dishonest, obscene, shameless, heartless, in denial, blasphemous, and religiously intolerant as Fox News are deserve the maximum penalty allowable.
I know nothing about point assessment, but Pastor Fireball's critique against 'Fox News for, among other things, being blasphemous intrigues me. I have always thought that 'blasphemy' meant something like insulting God, or speaking about God in an insulting way, or misusing the name of God, something like that. And Pastor Fireball is complaining about people who, apparently, were blasphemous about him. So I guess that this means that Pastor Fireball is, well, God?

He may have been using the Wikipedia definition. But your guess is as good as mine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blasphemy
Blasphemy is irreverence[1] toward holy personages, religious artifacts, customs, and beliefs. The Abrahamic religions condemn blasphemy vehemently. Some countries have laws to punish blasphemy,[2] while others have laws to give recourse to those who are offended by blasphemy. Those laws may discourage blasphemy as a matter of blasphemous libel,[3] vilification of religion,[4][5] religious insult,[6] or hate speech.[7]

I am so upset I am close to crying. First, I'm terribly sad that I missed dear sweet Pastor Firebull's return to the board. I'm terribly worried that he was so sick and had to go to the hospital and be brought back to life and worry about his children becoming fatherless all that. And, why? Because he thought some of you had been mean to him! I am angry. I am outraged. Okay, I'm not exactly sure what anybody did or said that was so rude, but you know who you are and you know what you did! Don't make me come down all Amish on your ass!

In other news, I've been so busy getting ready for Christmas that I haven't even had a chance to come to the library for a long time. I've finished sewing quilts and aprons for gifts, and my line of jams and jellies have been selling very well at the Stirbucks cafe. I had to make a new huge batch, which I delivered just before I came over here. I picked up a nice check for the earlier sales, too.

Oh, wait, there is another clue, which Emily mentioned: Pastor Fireball died, and he came back to life. I recall something like that happening about 2,000 years ago... (well, I don't personally recall it, I recall Sister Mary Margaret telling us about it, and I'm pretty sure she was actually there at the time).

Reminds me of the old joke of Jesus filling in at the pearly gates. Meets a guy who says his name roughly translates as Joe, and that he was a carpenter, and he did his best, but his son! His son was world famous. Did things that were miraculous. Was apparently dead and yet walked the earth again.

Jesus, tears welling up in his eyes, goes to embrace him. "Dad, it's been so long!"

The guy looks confused and says, "

I haven't posted for a while and I have been only barely following the bored, but this thread has garnered my interest!

Let me see if I got this straight:

Nelly hosted an LS.
Sometime during this LS, several BBs made comments that offended/stressed out Nelly.
LS was discontinued suddenly.
Nelly came back recently to announce that because of all the mean things that were said about him, he had a heart attack and almost died.
People doubt this.

Am I close?

The only thing I'm wondering is what was the gist of the comments directed at Nelly that caused him to keel over. They must have been really outlandish and hurtful.

Oh, and hi all!
