Travis was in the audition session that elwing attended. She recognized him but said there wasn't anything particularly noteworthy about him.

Ricketts and gout are not caused by a pathogen. Ebola is viral, so that only leaves leprosy.

I'd have blown it on this one. I glanced right over the word "antibiotics", and I remembered during the whole Ebola debacle last year, the point was made that if you catch Ebola in America, your chances of survival were actually just fine. That, of course, doesn't necessarily mean it's fully treatable.

Actually, he mentioned Persian rugs and magic carpets after he used two lifelines. So why did he waste lifelines on an answer he knew? He muttered something about making sure to get to the $5K threshold, but I'm still scratching my head.

I think they've had a Jolly Rancher question before. Man, I loved those things -- green apple, cinnamon fire -- and it took all day to eat one.

7K: How could anybody not living under a rock during all the commotion last summer think that ebola, a virus, by the way, so not treatable with antibiotics at all, is easily treatable with anything?

Note to KP: Your chances when being treated in America are not "just fine". At least one of the victims here died. One of the others reportedly has eye problems, related to live ebola virus still housed in his eyes. Reportedly it doesn't get out so he's not contagious. That's what they're currently saying, anyway.

For the people treated here who did survive, we threw everything we had at them, including experimental stuff that you wouldn't give patients who weren't otherwise going to die.

Memo to the question writers:

Do the quote properly, or do not. There is no double negative.

Exactly. Perhaps it doesn't equate to "very treatable", but there are orders of magnitude of difference between the US and Africa, mainly because we had the resources.
