Shorter telomeres = shorter life = less time/chance to get cancer.

Maybe you are right. Maybe not. I'd never heard of telomeres so I found it interesting.

If I was an inch shorter, I'd be required to use a booster seat in the car. So I'm pretty sure my telemores are short.

That's funny!

We always joke (out of her earshot) that Princess Peanut will have to use a booster seat until high school.

[Not really, as Nebraska's cutoff is 6 years, with no height requirement.]

Still, I just hope that her younger sister does not outgrow the need for a booster before she does. (Based on where seat belt hits them on their bodies)

The commercial they always run on tv (they just showed it earlier this evening) says if you're under 4' 10", you're required to be in a booster seat, regardless of age. I'm not sure if it's a state or a national ad. I'll have to pay attention next time they show it (which should be in about 8 minutes, ha!)

When I looked, several states list their requirement as being under a certain age and a height of 55 inches.

If you are in Colorado, then the requirement apparently is "children who weigh over 40 lbs. or who are at least four years old but less than six years old be properly restrained in a child booster seat or with a child safety belt-positioning device, unless they are 55 inches tall."

Our kids still will use a booster until they likely are 10 or so (PP maybe even longer). When we take long trips, we actually use high-backed booster seats. It will be at least junior high before they ride in the front passenger seat.
