Lyrically Speaking - 2/16/24
OK, so I lied................
Welcome to Fashion Friday!!!! Yes, this will be a very special LSWE game that will celebrate that often under appreciated element of rock and roll, style! Below you will find fifteen images of bands (I didn't consider solo artists for this game since it's a lot easier to be "unique" when you're all alone) sporting some pretty iconic, peculiar or completely out of style fashions. All you have to do is identify the group and then name any one of their songs. Since this is a wide open game with regards to song titles, I'm limiting Annie Bonuses to one per customer so that nobody tries to root out as many qualifying songs as they can. Good luck, and the Meister takes no responsibility should any of these images give you recurring nightmares of flashbacks...
1 point for the fashionable group, 1 point for one of their songs...

1 point for the fashionable group, 1 point for one of their songs...
1. Hide Your Love Away - Beatles
2. Sweet Dreams - Eurhtymics
3. Whip It - Devo
4. In the Navy - Village People
5. Tricky - Run DMC
After however many umpteen years, someone is about to go on trial for the murder of Jam Master Jay...
6. Hard Luck Woman - KISS
7. Dani California - RHCP
8. Love Shack - B52s
I normally don't like to repeat songs that were used in a previous game, but I think you've run the gamut of song of theirs that I know. Plus this was playing on Mecca Radio when I stopped in on the way home from bingo tonight...
9. I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister
Fuck We're Not Gonna Take It....
10. Get Lucky - Daft Punk
One of the two songs I know by them..... one guess as to the other one. Ha!
11. Little Red Riding Hood - Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs
Going for the obvious here, but is it a trick???
12. Fanny - Bee Gees
Seriously, what else would I pick???
13. Peaches - Presidents of the United States of America
The only song I know by them, so why do I recognize them? I don't know... My cousin's kid got a cd of theirs for Christmas, damn, it was sometime back in the early 90s, and he was playing this song.
Before you know it, every adult in the house is singing the damned thing. Somebody would walk out of the living room down the hall while singing it and a minute later somebody else would come into the room singing it. I still sing words to it to my cats. As soon as they hear "Going to the kitchen, gonna get you a lot of cookies" the boys come booting it down the stairs and Tokyo drift around the corner to the kitchen because they know it's Temptations time!
14. Dr. Funkenstein - Parliament
I'll leave Atomic Dong for Mel....
15. Who Do You Think You Are- The Band That Ripped Off Paper Lace
What, you were expecting something else???
Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song by a band that has questionable fashion taste.
Cmon Get Happy - Partridge Family
Because nothing says hip and cool in the 70s like matching purple velvet outfits....

Re: Lyrically Speaking - 2/16/24
1.
The Beatles (I would have been severely disappointed had anybody missed this gimme...)
2.
The Eurythmics (It was so weird when the video for "Here Comes The Rain" came out, because seeing Annie not in a three piece suit just didn't seem right...)
3.
Devo (The most egregiously mislabeled OHW of all time...)
4.
The Village People
5.
Run DMC (Pioneering band in bringing hip hop into the mainstream, yet their lasting legacy will always be giving Aerosmith their legendary second wind...)
6.
Kiss (Maybe a bigger gimme than the Beatles...)
7.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
8.
B-52's
9.
Twisted Sister (Nobody remembers how the band dressed. Dee Snider's blonde hair was their trademark...)
10.
Daft Punk
11.
Sam the Sham & The Pharoahs (The main reason I didn't use Paul Revere & The Raiders... it's the same concept)
12.
The Bee Gees
13.
The Presidents of the United States of America
14.
Parliament
15.
Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods (Anyone who missed this one should be seriously reprimanded for not reading the awesome promos that always precede the LSWE. That's where the idea for this game came from!)
Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song by a band that has questionable fashion taste.
I'm glad someone used the New York Dolls, because they were one of the first bands that came to mind for this game. But I can't name a single NYD song, so I wouldn't expect anyone else to either....
Image Bonus: What look is in this year?
It may over-compensate for my mocking of Hillary in Thursday's game, but frank had me rolling with Trump in orange. He gets the IBB!

frank gets a supermax for negative points and orange being a yuge color this year...
Krox gets 3 JJC points for backing Billy for the HoF, and for providing another piece of the Taylor Swift puzzle for me (No, I had no clue why everyone kept talking about her and the Super Bowl, I'm that out of it)....

Joke's on you, dude. That's an actual song! You're not really up on our BDH oeuvre, are you? It's like Queens of the Stone Age all over again....littlebeast13 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 8:53 amJJC Points:
