Checking In

#1 Post by BackInTex » Sun Sep 14, 2008 11:39 am

We have electricity. Power went off about 11:00 Friday night and came back on about 3:00 yesterday afternoon. We feel really lucky. Half our neighborhood is still without power, much west of us is without power and most east of us is. We are the only ones in my wife's family here that has power so some stayed with us last night.

We have no cable and thus no high-speed internets. I am connected via dial-up ath 26.2K (ugh).

We had a little damage to the house. Lost some shingles that resultied in small leaks in the master bath and bedroom. Other than that we made out very well.

My m-i-l has trees down everwhere including a rather large on on her roof. She has leaks.

So, all in all, for me all is O.K. Hopefully all the other Houston BBs are doing well.

More Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I kept my old dial-up for emergencies, and I only get 26.6 now, too. Maybe we should see if we missed the last year or so of software upgrades....
