Little Maggie gets her motherhood capabilities removed today

Or is it Little Molly. Darn it, that pup's name keeps reminding me of a folk song, or the folk song reminds me of the pup, & I can't remember which name is which name is which.

My sister is beagle-sitting neighbor beagle pup. I fear neighbor beagle pup is on way to becoming new 2nd dog beagle pup. I fear this not because I dislike beagle pups (my favoritest of dogs was a beagle) but because of the dynamics involved; sudden, tragic & unjust death of the grandmother, our neighbor, who bought the pup for her grand-daughter because kid really wanted grandma's dog, who kid has grown up with. So grandma is now gone, & family can't afford 2 dogs (they really can't afford any dogs, but if one is able to be kept, it will be grandma's dog) & new, very unbeagle-y (this is about the 1st pup I've ever met who not only ran away from me, she howled; yes, I know, howling is a beagle specialty, but not at friendly people) skittish pup (who is very sensitive to the hurting, hurting, hurting vibes of the bereft & in-financial-big-trouble family she's with) is being boarded with my sister at every opportunity. She's being boarded because she's just not trained enough yet to take on trips etc.

Sister is doing a lot to just making her feel loved & wanted, & beagle pup is giving a lot of love back. I will be happy to meet a more-beagle-like Maggie some day.

Sister really does have to keep a close watch, because "real dog" Facto has never been fixed (we're still looking for that person who wants the world's most oversized full-breed-with-papers-to prove-it Lhasa Apso as their pup's BFF & baby-daddy) & neither has equally full-breed, but "came cheaper with no papers" Maggie. We tried to find out where the breeder is who sold Maggie so we could get those papers for a price if she has to go to a new home; tried to get our late neighbor's daughter, who is falling apart, to tell us, but she just can't remember well enough.

So Maggie gets the op today, & after a recovery period, she won't have to be so carefully watched when being beagle-sat. Facto will wonder "what happened to my new pal's ineffible characteristic that is now no more". At least we hope he will wonder that, & not proceed with the inevitable. If he does, she will probable howl while trying to do him in.
