Wedding Blog: The Big Day (Part 4)

We interrupt this political discussion for something much more important.
--------------------------------------------------------
Our turn now. BD and I got aimed out the door and down the hall, pausing only to let the coordinator straighten out the gown's train. Our conversation was mainly about the location of everyone at the end of our short walk. The rabbi had given her instructions, but hadn't bothered to clue in the males. Instead of continuing directly under the chuppah, we were to stop at the end of the seating. FSIL would come out from the chuppah, where he'd be waiting, and shake my hand. I'd turn to BD, give her a kiss, and give her over to him to lead to the chuppah and the rabbi.

When we made the turn down the aisle (or is that The Aisle?), my smile grew from seeing my relatives gathered for a happy family occasion. Far too often in recent years, with all the aging parents, the gatherings had not been so happy. It was just wonderful seeing everyone. I didn't really pay attention to the walking down the aisle part. I was too busy smiling at everyone as we went by.

The hand-off went as planned. The look on everyone's faces in the photo when I shook soon-to-be-SIL's hand says it all. And so the ceremony began.

Unfortunately, my clean electronic copy of the ceremony is on my home computer. I will post it sometime this evening and continue after that.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
