In yet another example of government's ability to foul up even the simplest things, we have been requested to stop reporting our contracting actions because of a serious problem with the database into which the data is loaded. Evidently a recent update that was supposed to fix one or two minor issues ended up creating about a dozen serious problems. We are "on hold" until the second week of September, but there is no indication that the deadline for report submission will be delayed, so that will mean a lot of additional work in a very short amount of time.

As the saying goes...to err is human, but to really screw things up it takes a bureaucrat.

My sympathies. Is there any way to do the reporting on your own computer in the right format, so you can copy and paste it into the regular database later on?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Regrettably not. All I can do is keep a running tally of how many actions will have to be reported. And since it's the end of the fiscal year and everyone's racing to spend money, there will be a lot of actions to report.
