Bite Me shirt

#1 Post by peacock2121 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:52 am

I was at BJ's when I was up at the lake (just outside of Rochester).

I have a Bite Me t-shirt (several actually), that has a NY kinda Big Apple and says Bite Me in the middle of it. It is olive green and quite cute, if I do say so myself.

I was wearing said shirt.

Three people asked me where I got it.

Then, as I was leaving a 4th person - female, around my age, followed me (she got out of line to do so) and had to jog a bit to catch me. I thought "Here comes another t-shirt question."

She said "Where did you get...... your haircut?"

She was crest fallen when I told her Poughkeepsie.

They sell haircuts in the Queen City of the Hudson?

And they can't figure out something to do?

Someone find the lyrics - I am getting frustrated.

Batteries Not Included, I think.

It was a great song. I want to hear it again.

Poughkeepsie - City of Sin.

Poughkeepsie - City of Sin.
This sounds like Poughkeepsie or not:

Too many strangers in my bed
Too many demons running around my head
Too many nights in this town
Too many memories trying to drag me down

Take down to the city of sin
Cause I can't stand the shape I'm in
The lord above won't save my soul
Mister would you pour one more
Take me down to where the rainbows end
Take me down to the city of sin

Too many years wasted my time
Too many tears falling down the line
Too many broken hearts laying in my wake
Too many lonely nights for one man to take

Take down to the city of sin
Cause I can't stand the shape I'm in
The lord above won't save my soul
Mister would you pour one more
Take me down to where the rainbows end
Take me down to the city of sin

Too many reasons why I shouldn't stay
Too many reason why I can't stay away
Too many broken dreams lay out in the cold
Too many tales that have yet to be told

Take down to the city of sin
Cause I can't stand the shape I'm in
The lord above won't save my soul
Mister would you pour one more
This whiskey glass is my only friend
Take me down to the city of sin
Clammy Jammies

I woke up this morning
With my jammies kinda clammy
Saturday's a whammy on a Sunday morn
Oh god I'll do my best
And I hope I pass this test
Because I won't be drinking anymore

There'll be no more drinking in the city
Where the girls look mighty pretty
Especially 'round three or four
No more waking up with strangers
No more late night drunken dangers
Cause I won't be drinking anymore

I woke up this morning
With my jammies kinda clammy
Saturday's a whammy on a Sunday morn
Oh god I'll do my best
And I hope I pass this test
Because I won't be drinking anymore

No more drinking in the city
Where the cops show you no pity
And they'll beat you till you till you're good and sore
No more puking in the kitchen
No more late night wife a bitchin'
Cause I won't be drinking anymore

I woke up this morning
With my jammies kinda clammy
Saturday's a whammy on a Sunday morn
Oh god I'll do my best
And I doubt I'll drink much less
But I won't be drinking anymore

That ain't it.

The lyrics I posted were the only ones I could remember.

They played the song at The Chance and maybe even at The Dutchess County Fair.

It was very funny.

Batteries Not Included recorded a song in 1980 titled "Poughkeepsie City of Sin," which was a minor local hit. It was played annually by radio station WPDH (101.5 FM) as #1,015 on their Top 1,015 Rock Songs of all Time countdown.
