I can't believe I'm still watching this show, Marley!

Really, with everything else in summer repeats, it's amazing that they're still showing new episodes. There's one more next week, apparently.

There was a special theme this week: this year's class of Fifth Graders was joined by last year's class, who are now (or then when it taped) Sixth Graders! So the contestants had ten kids to choose from! But they still had only three cheats. The end result of this was that old-classers Alana and Marki and new-classers Cody, Olivia and Mackenzie never got out of their seats all night. And while Spencer did get a turn to help, if he said as much as one word, it got edited out of the tape.

The first contestant was Chrissy, a kindergarten teacher.

She started out very strong through the first five questions, even answering a confusing 4th Grade Geometry "Classroom Club" question:

What is the only geometric shape that has infinite lines of symmetry?

But then she had to be saved on 3rd Grade US Geography.

What is the name of the following river which forms the border between Mexico and the US state of Texas?

Despite the help of an illustrative map, Chrissy guessed the Colorado.

Chrissy used her Peek on 3rd Grade Science:

T/F? When a wooden log burns and turns to ash, it undergoes a physical change but not a chemical change.

Then she decided to to risk her money on 4th Grade Astronomy, so she walked with $100K.

In Fahrenheit, what is the approximate temperature of the sun's surface? A. 10,000 degrees, B. 1 million degrees, C. 35 million degrees.

Her hunch of C was wrong. Copying from Sierra would have been right.

The second contestant was salesman Patrick.

Patrick turned out to be a contestant who was confident of his answers. Wrong answers.

2nd Grade Geography:

T/F? The Rocky Mountains are located entirely within the U.S.

"I know the answer and the answer is True."

Sierra saves him.

And a bit later, after using his Peek and his Copy, 4th Grade World History:

In the 16th Century, what explorer began and led the first known sea voyage that would circle the globe?

"I know the answer and the answer is Christopher Columbus."

And Patrick falls to $25K.

I think that if they're going to have a visiting class the contestants should use a different person for each question - especially last night when last year's class was visiting. Ten questions - ten classmates. Of course it might make things go a little longer.

Chrissy, as a teacher, was probably too risk-averse to risk losing money on her astronomy question.

Poor Patrick - as Jeff said, "history repeats itself".
