Well, we are 4 days away from leaving this beautiful area of the country. We have the house pretty well completed as far as packing is concerned. Most of my ducks are covered (moving, hotels, service cancellations, mail rerouting, etc.). The only duck not covered yet in the moving of one of our vehicles. The two auto-movers I have been in contact with are having a tough time finding a carrier. It would not have been an issue to drive it with the exception that Lady G is terrified of highway driving. I had thought about towing it but that wouldn't work, either. With gas prices being as high as they are, drivers are not exactly beating down the door looking for business. So, our neighbor has generously offered to keep the vehicle in her driveway until a carrier is found if we can't get it moved before we leave.
We figure it to be a two-day trip and we will staying one night in Louisville before heading on to Iowa on Tuesday. I'm ready for this adventure. There are plenty of nice houses that we have seen on the Internet and our agent out there will have her hands full when we get there, if she doesn't already.
So, now, we wait. The movers will be here on Monday and we're leaving on Tuesday.
