Sad news about Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi’s husband, cinematographer Abraham Williams, has cancer. Tulsi is leaving the Trump administration to be at her husband’s side.

Since I've gotten my own diagnosis, I've been very sensitive to stories like this, and it seems like there's a lot of them concerning politicians and their families on both sides of the political spectrum. Cancer is apolitical, and it can strike and spread very quickly without notice as I found out. I was "lucky" that my colon cancer, which wasn't there when I had a colonoscopy four months earlier, caused some severe internal bleeding which led to my hospitalization, and the scans found the cancer when I still had good options for treatment.

Some people aren't that lucky. And what's worse, unless you happen to get the right test at the exact right time, you often can't do anything about it. Prayers and best wishes to Tulsi's husband and the entire family.
