Which makes it so strange that they are being so indiscriminate, so do you think they would look at things a little bit more closely, being so smart and all.

Unless you realize, this is how a private equity takeover works. They come in, cut out more than needed, and then work back up to some kind of functional staffing. They intentionally make everyone work very lean early on. This is what Musk did to Twitter.

Of course, this is the government, not private business, so maybe extra care should be used.
