1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist....

1. I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead
I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled
Yeah, yeah

2. One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away
He's lookin' for that home, and I hope he finds it

3. Watching in a trance,
The crew is certain.
Nothing left to chance,
All is working.

4. I really couldn't help but fall in love with her
Her being there has made my life worth living
I knew it from the start
That I would lose my heart

5. I know you've heard it all before
So I don't say it anymore
I just stand by and let you
Fight your secret war

6. I must have blacked out just around then
'Cause the very next thing that I could see
Was the light of the day again
My stomach was full as it could be

7. Walk but you'll never ge`t away
No, you'll never get away from the burnin' a-heartache
I walked to Apollo by the bay
Everywhere I go

8. Everybody's misused him
Ripped him up and abused him
Another junkie plan
Pushin' dope for the man
A terrible blow but that's how it goes

9. And if he can't drive
With a broken back
At least he can polish the fenders

10. Clearly I remember
Pickin' on the boy
Seemed a harmless little fuck

11. There he stood in the night
Knowing what's wrong from what's right
He took her home to meet his mama and papa
Now he had a terrible fright

12. And with her head upon his shoulder
His young and lovely fiancee
From where I stood I saw she was crying
And through her tears I heard her say

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that has a male's name in the title.

Image Bonus: Let's hear it for the boy(s)!

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist....

1. I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead
I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled
Yeah, yeah

Jumping Jack Flash - Rolling Stones

2. One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away
He's lookin' for that home, and I hope he finds it

Me and Bobby McGee - Kris Kristofferson

Oh, you knew that was happening. You probably wouldn't have even given me credit if I'd said anybody else...

3. Watching in a trance,
The crew is certain.
Nothing left to chance,
All is working.

Major Tom - Schilling

I think it's Peter but I'm not sure. Is this like Jeopardy where just the last name is acceptable unless it's Roosevelt or Johnson?

4. I really couldn't help but fall in love with her
Her being there has made my life worth living
I knew it from the start
That I would lose my heart

5. I know you've heard it all before
So I don't say it anymore
I just stand by and let you
Fight your secret war

Joey - Concrete Blonde

6. I must have blacked out just around then
'Cause the very next thing that I could see
Was the light of the day again
My stomach was full as it could be

Timothy - The Buoys

This makes me miss TBone. I think we were the only two cannibal aficionados in the group, Apart from Bebe the President of the Ed Gein Fan Club, of course.

7. Walk but you'll never ge`t away
No, you'll never get away from the burnin' a-heartache
I walked to Apollo by the bay
Everywhere I go

Eli's Coming - Three Dog Night

8. Everybody's misused him
Ripped him up and abused him
Another junkie plan
Pushin' dope for the man
A terrible blow but that's how it goes

9. And if he can't drive
With a broken back
At least he can polish the fenders

Anthony's Song - Billy Joel

I know this must be the title, since you hate parentheticals and all...

10. Clearly I remember
Pickin' on the boy
Seemed a harmless little fuck

Jeremy - Pearl Jam

How come they never tell us what happened to the lunch lady???

11. There he stood in the night
Knowing what's wrong from what's right
He took her home to meet his mama and papa
Now he had a terrible fright

Brother Louie - Stories

12. And with her head upon his shoulder
His young and lovely fiancee
From where I stood I saw she was crying
And through her tears I heard her say

Billy Don't Be a Hero - Paper Lace

And some other group whose name escapes me...

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that has a male's name in the title.

Duke of Earl - Gene Chandler

With regards to Song #9....
DON'T LOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED YET!
I removed that song once I found out Anthony was in the parenthetical and not the main title, but had unfortunately already pasted the lyrics into the game. So when I added Jeremy as its replacement, I pasted it into #10 without even thinking. So that cost this game a Jim Croce song (You get two guesses which one) and left that damn parenthetical in the game!!!!

I thought I sent my entry via private message, LB. I will try to send it again and really would like credit because I actually got a couple. I'll check private messages and if that doesn't work, try to post it now, see what happens.
. . .
Well, bleep -- there's no evidence in private messages that I tried to send it. Grrr...

OK, trying again --

And it's not happening. I'll try again to send it via private messages. Here's the error message:

It wouldn't go as a private message!

I will send it via regular E-mail.

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist....

1. I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead

I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled

Yeah, yeah

Jumpin Jack Flash, Rolling Stones. My favorite Whoopi Goldberg movie.

2. One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away

He's lookin' for that home, and I hope he finds it

Me and Bobby McGee, Janis Joplin

3. Watching in a trance,

The crew is certain.

Nothing left to chance,

All is working.

4. I really couldn't help but fall in love with her

Her being there has made my life worth living

I knew it from the start

That I would lose my heart

Who's Johnny

5. I know you've heard it all before

So I don't say it anymore

I just stand by and let you

Fight your secret war

6. I must have blacked out just around then

'Cause the very next thing that I could see

Was the light of the day again

My stomach was full as it could be

7. Walk but you'll never ge`t away

No, you'll never get away from the burnin' a-heartache

I walked to Apollo by the bay

Everywhere I go

8. Everybody's misused him

Ripped him up and abused him

Another junkie plan

Pushin' dope for the man

A terrible blow but that's how it goes

9. And if he can't drive

With a broken back

At least he can polish the fenders

Movin Out, Billy Joel. But there's no name in it.

10. Clearly I remember

Pickin' on the boy

Seemed a harmless little fuck

You knew when you entered this one there was a 98% 100% chance I wouldn't get it.

11. There he stood in the night

Knowing what's wrong from what's right

He took her home to meet his mama and papa

Now he had a terrible fright

12. And with her head upon his shoulder

His young and lovely fiancee

From where I stood I saw she was crying

And through her tears I heard her say

Billy don't be a hero, Paper Lace

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that has a male's name in the title.

Mack the Knife, Bobby Darin

Image Bonus: Let's hear it for the boy(s)!

Disclaimer not necessary.

I'm not sure why you were having trouble, I was able to post it as-is without the server error...
