Big Treat for Somebody This Halloween

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Sun Oct 30, 2022 7:52 am

Nobody hit the Powerball jackpot last night, so Monday's drawing will be worth over $1 billion. There's going to be a bunch of kids out of luck because Mommy and Daddy spent the candy money on Powerball tickets instead.

Last night after attending a community event I went into a CircleK as the Flying Monkey and bought a PB ticket thinking that if I won they could play the security tape.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

That would be epic.

They’re fitting numbers: 13, a multiple of 13, and Powerball 13 on Hallowe’en.

I honestly think I don't want to win that much money. My sweet spot is around $30 million. Enough to set up the family for a long time, do everything I've dreamed of, and yet stay under the radar and not worry about making sure the money is being well managed and going to the right things.

If you win, I'll gladly accept the excess.

When I worked for the Georgia Lottery, our yearly bonus was based on the increase in profit over the year before. Needless to say, those still working there are in for a nice bonus this year.

Tonight's Powerball drawing has been delayed because of "technical difficulties." No telling how long it will take them to hold the drawing, with only $1.9 billion at stake.

The website says, "Results Pending".

The winning ticket was in Los Angeles County.

Well darn, that means I didn't win. And I was looking forward to ruining your life by giving you all but $30 million of my winnings. :)

I'm about 25 miles from Altadena, where the winning ticket was sold. The service station that sold the ticket will get a $1 million bonus as a reward for its proximity to luck. --Bob
