BiT-Newell Brands Update

BiT-I think it was you who mentioned the Newell Brands "Crockpot Fire" episode on "This is Us" about 3 years ago. The stock took a hit from this and as I like to buy stocks where something like that happens I took that as a buy signal.

I bought 100 shares at $24.26. The current price is $25.27 so sitting on price appreciation of just over 4%.

However, Newell also pays a 3.7 percent dividend which I have been reinvesting automatically back in Newell shares.

This accumulated 17.2264 shares of Newell.

A couple of days ago-I decided to buy 100 shares of Coca-Cola-so I used a lot of dividend reinvested purchased shares of various companies to accumulate the cash to buy Coke. I used the 17.2264 shares of Newell as part of this transaction, so I am back to 100 shares in Newell and a lot of other companies as well.

I have done similar things several times in the past to purchase shares in a new company-downside is there is no way to keep track of how the original company investment is turning out. For example. I have trimmed the re-invested dividend shares many times in Phillips 66-so I am totally lost as to how the Phillips investment is turning out as the dividends have been used to purchase other companies.
