Actor Christopher Plummer has died at age 91.

This has not been a good week for nonagenarian acting legends.
I just watched on TCM last month one of my favorite Plummer films, The Silent Partner, in which he played a stone cold psycho, a big departure from his usual persona. It was during the middle period of his career, when he was morphing from leading man to character roles. Another good film from this era is Murder by Decree, where he played Sherlock Holmes going up against Jack the Ripper.
