Purdue Pharma, the privately held company that manufactures OxyContin has pled guilty to three criminal charges and will file for bankruptcy and close down the company. The company will pay over $8 billion that will go to opioid treatment and abatement programs. Since the company doesn't have that much cash, it will be liquidated to pay for the settlement.
