Cy-Fair High School BiT and other Texans

#1 Post by mrkelley23 » Sun Dec 24, 2017 12:07 pm

Congratulations to the Bobcats, winners of the Class 6A Div. 2 state football championship in Texas. Anybody who's ever seen Friday Night Lights knows how big of a deal this is. From BiT's celebrating on EFB, I assume this is where his kids went.

Through a newsfeed coincidence, I found out that a good friend and former colleague of mine, Harvey Robbins, is an alum of Cy-Fair. As a retired volunteer coach, he helped Evansville's Reitz Memorial High School to the Indiana Class 3A championship this year. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

I know he has mentioned Cy-Fair High School here before, so at least one/some of his kids went/is going there.

Thanks for the congratulatory post MrK. Yes, all four kids attended Cy-Fair. My youngest is a senior this year. He is in the drumline so we go to every game, including all the playoff games this year. Cy-Fair celebrated its 75th anniversary last year. This is the first time we've made it to the state football title game let alone win it. It's been a great season. 15-0.

I've mentioned Cy-Fair a couple of time here. One was for the "We're #1" foam finger. Originally conceived and copyrighted by a Cy-Fair teacher for Cy-Fair.

Another time may have been about the district (Cy-Fair ISD) being the largest independent school district in the nation not associated with a major metropolitan area.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

You don't associate with them Houstonians, huh?
