A one-hit wonder, but that hit was the first of a thousand and one recordings of "Everlasting Love", which hit the US Top 40 in 4 separate versions in the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's (Knight, Carl Carlton, Rex Smith & Rachel Sweet, and Gloria Estefan respectively).

I knew this had been covered to death, but I don't think I've ever heard this original version before. I've heard the other three versions before, and like most others, knew Carlton's the best and probably assumed he was the original artist...
