Five down, eleven to go.

#1 Post by etaoin22 » Fri Apr 25, 2008 9:10 am

This Stanley Cup thing in Montreal is beginning to look like a real chance, after the 4-3 overtime come-from-behinder yesterday. Goal with 28 seconds to go in regulation to tie, goal at 48 seconds in OT to win.

The Flyers may find this to be a sledgehammer loss, (lke the Sens of 3tou years agooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Just for the record, the Canadianism to which I was unconsciously referring in the "pants" post, is:

"deking him out of his pants"

From the slang "deke" for decoy.

Manouvre in which the puck-carrier gets by a defender, by misleading back-and-forth play of the puck on the stick.

Some player at some point with hockey pants held up by suspenders maybe did have falling pants, although more likely not during play, but in one of the old-fashoined fights where they are tugging at wool jerseys and hitting at the same time.

Thank you for the explanation, Mr. Dr. Etaoin. I didn't understand that phrase. Of course, I never wear pants, so nobody can fool me that way.

Um, you were saying?

Take out that bogus high-stick goal in Game 1 and this series is 3-0 Flyers.

Not trying to bust on the Meister but must stick up for my hometown team.

Merely a sideshow.

The Red Wings are going to smash the Avs and then roll to the Cup.

And earlier in the same dream, the Dynamo won a game.

0-2-3 to start the season. Not good for the two-time defending champs. Not panic time yet, we started 2-5-1 last year and recovered, but its not looking good.
No matter where you go, there you are.
