Wedding Blog: BD**2 - 108

Hope I've got the days left correct. I'm starting to lose track with all these skipped days.

GW is off to the Heartland, to visit family and specifically Mom. Not a fun trip, though. Mom is ailing, and there's some discussion to be done about the possibility of moving to assisted living. Since this is the house where GW grew up, there's considerable emotional baggage involved. Plus the fact that there's no telling if this might be the last trip to see 94-year-old Mom. No, not fun at all.

I just bought three place settings from BD's registry, the very same place settings that "never go on sale" (GW's words), but are not only on sale, but with a 3 for 2 offer on top of the discount. Whatever. Three settings for less than $90. Hard to beat for some very nice stainless.

This weekend is the rabbi meeting. Among GW's parting words at the airport were "Don't let him give BD a hard time." She's remembering the hard time she got from the rabbis she contacted for our wedding, another mixed marriage. Major hassles about the mixed marriage and her audacity at marrying me without converting to Judaism. Had her in tears at the time. One of the few phone calls I got from her, or vice versa, during our long pre-wedding separation (back before cellphones and free long distance). I don't think this guy will do that, but we'll see.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I am confused.

If GW is not Jewish, then how is BD Jewish? Are you Reform? Are you speaking to a Reform rabbi? Does BD practice as a Jew?
