American Crime Story to Tackle Clinton-Lewisnsky

American Crime Story, Ryan Murphy's limited series on the FX network that looks at sensational true crime cases, will take on the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky saga. The first season of Crime Story, which aired last spring, looked at the O.J. Simpson murder trial and won nine Emmys, including Best Limited Series, Best Actor (Courtney Vance for Johnnie Cochran) and Best Actress (Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark). Paulson is attached to the Clinton/Lewinsky project, but a role has not been announced (Murphy said it will not be Hillary Clinton, btw, Paulson is not a good physical match for Hillary as she was for Marcia Clark), nor have any of the other cast members. Murphy did say that Monica Lewinsky will probably be played by a relatively unknown actress.

In any event, it will be a while before the series airs. The show's second season, on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, won't air until 2018, and a third season, featuring the murder of designer Gianni Versace, has already been announced as well.
