The Boney 500: Album #4

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Tue Dec 20, 2016 10:04 am

4. INNERVISIONS-STEVIE WONDER (1973)

It was years before I FULLY appreciated Stevie. I mean, I liked some of his hits, sure, but it wasn't until I saw him in concert
around 1980 or '81 (I forget which) that it dawned on me just how much I liked his music. The man blew me away. I went out and
bought all of his 70's albums from "Music Of My Mind" to 1980's "Hotter Than July", loving them all, but this one above them all.
I felt like an idiot that this was not a part of my collection from the start. I really heard songs like "Higher Ground" and
"Living For The City" in a whole new way. I liked "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" even more than I already did. And discovering
gems like "He's Misstra Know-it-All" and the breathtaking "Golden Lady" was pure joy. So glad I eventually discovered what I had
been missing.

If it's good enough for a Boney top 4, I must check this album out in full.

This was not one of my predicted top finishers.

Once you get to the third song ("Living For The City"), it really gets rolling..

Every one a musical education. Very enjoyable.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller
