Open Road Media, which is one of the largest all-digital publishing platforms out there has literally hundreds of titles available for free on Amazon today. They include a lot of very good mystery, science fiction, horror, and literary novels by name authors (not just self-published works). Some of these are public domain works but others are recent.

I've found out that this promotion is running through December 21. If you read Kindle books and like older titles (I'm talking about 10-70 years old, not necessarily public domain works), then you will very likely find some goodies here. Open Road Media specializes in back titles that have gone out of print (which for many authors means almost all of their catalogue). Supposedly, there are 5000 free titles during the promotion.
