64. TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS-THE DOOBIE BROTHERS (1976)
Album: Takin' It To The Streets
Liked the song, but when I heard them do it live a couple of years later, I upgraded that to "love" the song.
A tasty tune.
63. VIVA LA VIDA-COLDPLAY (2008)
Album: Viva La Vida
The most recent song on my list. A song about a king who's lost his kingdom, according to one band member. There
is certainly enough imagery and references to support a number of interpretations. Musically, it is an epic piece
with strings, tympani and church bell, and a propulsive bass drum contributing to the power, topped off with an
endgame that sounds like an entire stadium singing along..and when the band does this in concert, I'm sure the
audience does just that.

I guess this song is alright, but somehow I'm just not that big a fan of it. Maybe it has something to do with that awful album cover. I can think of about 125,000 reasons not to like it. Or at least 61,000 reasons.63. VIVA LA VIDA-COLDPLAY (2008)
