Well that was fun while it lasted (again)
Time to look for another job.
The powers that be at the company that bought the company I work for (and started in May, though technically I am still in "temp" status) has decided to move the small operations that are here into their HQ in Connecticut. This will be done by April 2017, though my job will likely be gone at the end of December.
At least I get a good lead time, and the agency is already on the case. I suspect this was always the plan, or I would have become permanent by now. And at least I learned another computer system, and got a trip to Germany out of it.
Now, please excuse me while I extract what feels like a boot in my gut.
