Today's two songs were released a year apart, but stylistically they are worlds apart...
120. YOU'RE MY HOME-BILLY JOEL (1973)
Album: Piano Man
A nice mellow love song. Easy on the ears.
119. WATCHER OF THE SKIES-GENESIS (1972)
Album: Foxtrot
Starting off with that spooky sounding mellotron and moving into that intricate riff (in 6/4 time..and then the
riff is played in 8/4 time against the mellotron in 6/4), I have often wondered how much rehearsing it took for the
whole band to be able to play some of the complicated patterns in this song. Peter Gabriel sings the part of a visiting
alien who is looking at a uninhabited Earth that man has destroyed. One of the greatest progressive rock songs ever.

I don't know if it's my computer, this site, the embedding function, or something else, but I'm having a hard time getting the songs to play. I suspect it's my 'puter..it either needs a good cleaning out or a good spanking, but just in case, here are the links to today's song that'll take you staright to the source.

Wow! I am VERY pleasantly surprised to see a classic (Peter Gabriel) Genesis song so high in your list. Of course, I hope there is more to come, especially some of his solo work...T_Bone0806 wrote:119. WATCHER OF THE SKIES-GENESIS (1972)
