Trump is winning (money) by losing
In March, Trump charged his campaign $35,458 per month in rent according to filings with the FEC. In July, he increased the charge to $169,758 per month, even though he had fewer staff members (and therefore less need for space). What was the difference? In March, he paid his own rent. In July, his donors paid the rent for him. --Bob

Isn't there a word to describe what Drumpf did? I think it begins with the initials "m.l."Bob78164 wrote:In March, Trump charged his campaign $35,458 per month in rent according to filings with the FEC. Meanwhile the Clintons donate $1,000,000 to their own charity, claim a tax deduction, and you turn a blind eye.
I'm guessing you see nothing wrong with that.

Because they don't benefit financially from the donation (other than via the same tax deduction anyone else would be entitled to for any charitable donation). So I really don't see how they're subject to criticism for donating to charity more in one year than most people will earn in their lifetimes. Or than Trump has donated in his life. --BobBackInTex wrote:Meanwhile the Clintons donate $1,000,000 to their own charity, claim a tax deduction, and you turn a blind eye.

So does Bill Gates.BackInTex wrote:Meanwhile the Clintons donate $1,000,000 to their own charity, claim a tax deduction, and you turn a blind eye.

Do you have a problem with him donating his own money to the Gates Foundation?

And then there's this cute little tactic: Trump used donors' dollars to by thousands of copies of his own book. --Bob

Here in Arizona, the big scandal is that Saudi Arabia gave $1 million to the McCain Institute. Despite his statements that he has nothing to do with it, that they are just using his name, the facts tell another story:
