The veteran character actor died Sunday.

I loved this guy to bits. He played tbe real deal of a character that just about everywhere else gets done as a caricature, usually by people who learned their Yiddish culture from the jerks on Saturday Night Live (which learners includes other jerks on Saturday Night Live).
