The Boney 500: Album #125

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:49 am

Picking up where we left off on Friday:

125. SECRET TREATIES-BLUE OYSTER CULT (1974)

Another of my go-to records when getting ready for a parrrrrty in my teen years. They were often called
the "thinking man's heavy metal band", as their lyrics were way beyond the usual subjects covered in most
hard rock albums of the time...very clever, very intelligent, a little subversive and a little wacked out.
And yeah, they rocked hard. Buck Dharma's guitar work on "Dominance And Submission" blew my 16 year-old
mind.

I seem to be having a great deal of trouble getting each individual song to start playing once the preceding song has finished. Hopefully it's just my computer being touchy today. If not, click on the link to take you to youtube..it doesn't seem to have issues there.

If you like mystery novels and you haven't read it yet, you should pick up J.K. Rowling's (writing as Robert Galbraith) Career of Evil. Lots of BOC references scattered throughout. If you're compulsive (like me) about not reading series out of order, read the first two first.
