The Boney 500: Album #143

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Wed Jun 08, 2016 9:48 am

Back to the days of my impressionable early teens for today's album entry. I had this originally on an 8-track tape. Since I didn't have that many 8-tracks at the time, this got played a lot. They said stuff like this would warp my fragile little mind, but I turned out perfectly normal, right?

ummm...right?

143. LOVE IT TO DEATH-ALICE COOPER

Of all the Cooper albums I loved in my teen years, this one has had the most staying power
in my listening habits. Certainly "Killer", "School's Out" and "Billion Dollar Babies" are
considered to be bigger entries in the Cooper canon, but I find that some of the tunes are pretty dated
and don't hold as much enjoyment for me as they used to. This one, the first to employ the classic
Cooper sound, has remained one I like to revisit from time to time. The band's first hit "I'm Eighteen", is
here, as are songs that rocked my 14 year-old world like "Long Way To Go", "Is It My Body", and "The Ballad
Of Dwight Fry".
