He's baaack -- Judge Roy Moore

#1 Post by SpacemanSpiff » Wed Jan 06, 2016 4:22 pm

Supreme Court of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore (an elected position, from which he was once impeached and removed, but subsequently reelected) has said that probate judges in the state have to enforce the same-sex marriage ban in Alabama.

His logic? Obergefell v Hodges doesn't apply to Alabama. Because the case came out of the Sixth District, he says that the US Supreme Court ruling doesn't apply to Alabama (which is part of a different district), but only to the states that make up the Sixth District.

Then again, maybe he's just (a) needing money for his PAC, which pays his wife a goodly sum as one of the officers, or (b) he's setting up a run for Governor, but that's not for another three years.

Yep, I figure he needs some money.

Here's the latest 990s (2013, plus prior years) for the Foundation for Moral Law, Inc.

At least in 2013 the executive compensation and other salaries/wages was only 32.8% of total expenses. The prior two years had them at over 50% both years.
