RIP Mary Jane Farell
One of the best bridge players in the world at a time when almost all of the top players were men, Mary Jane Farell died Sunday at the age of 95. She was always the epitome of class at the table, while always being a fierce competitor. In the world of duplicate bridge she was unquestioned royalty and she will be missed. --Bob

I was also in attendance at the 1978 Toronto Nationals where Mary Jane and Marilyn Johnson won the prestigious LM Pairs Von Zedtwitz Gold Cup and like Malcolm who wrote an addendum to your bridge winners article was in the Royal York hospitality lounge when the announcement of their victory was announced. I never had the pleasure of playing against her but did get destroyed by her Eastern contemporaries Dorothy Truscott and Ethel Keohane
