RIP The Dowager Lady Killearn

Given that Lady Killearn was in her late nineties at the time, the fact that the possibility of hotel room hanky panky was entertained at all was a testament to her youthfulness.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Do you subscribe to some news feed of "Obituaries of People You Wish You Knew When They Were Alive"? You seem to post a lot of these of folks we've never heard of but are very interesting. Thanks for doing so. I enjoy reading them.

This isn't exactly an obit, but George Bell's story is still very interesting as a cautionary tale. It's a reminder 'that all lives have some meaning. And a reminder that if you live alone and haven't posted on the Bored for a while, it's nice if someone notices and cares enough to find out if you're dead.

I think they are generally (perhaps exclusively) from http://www.telegraph.co.uk. Maybe he follows the obit twitter feed from there?

They definitely have interesting obituaries there. They make everyone interesting:

I suggested Randy Cassingham use him this week.

Ambassador Taylor has already been remembered and discussed here.
