They changed the rules this year for classifications to eliminate some of the confusion about the categories shows compete in (Orange Is the New Black and Desperate Housewives as comedies; True Detective as a drama). Now, anything that's one hour is considered a drama and 30 minutes is considered a comedy, although shows can appeal to be reclassified. Any show that tells a complete story without the main characters continuing into another season is considered a limited series (which replaces the former term "mini-series").

In all of the years that Mad Men has been on the air and all of the Emmys it has won for Outstanding Drama Series, I don't ever recall any of the actors winning even once. This has to be the year that Jon Hamm finally wins. I want to say that Viola Davis and Jeffrey Tambor are also locks in the lead acting categories, but I'll probably be wrong about that, too. Remember: I thought that The Crazy Ones was the best sitcom of the 2013-14 TV season.

Hamm won a Golden Globe in 2008 and has been nominated every year since. The series won Emmys in 2008 through 2011. Hamm's been nominated for Emmys every year from 2008 to now.
