Dexter

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Mon Jun 22, 2015 2:26 pm

I didn't watch Dexter when it was on originally, but I've spent some time recently binge-watching the first season. I'll probably watch the remaining seasons as and when I can make time.

Has anyone watched the shows and also read the books. I read the synopses of the books on amazon.com (including the series conclusion to be released next month) and it seems fairly clear there are major plot differences between the two. I'm basically wondering whether the books are worth my time if I watch the series.

Based on the very short excerpt I've read, the Dexter of the books seems considerably colder and darker than the Dexter of the Showtime series. Am I right about that? --Bob
