Announcement -- new summer camp

#1 Post by Lizbit » Wed Apr 22, 2015 6:29 pm

Yesterday, BeBe had to go to see Mr. Dr. David for teethcleaning. In the process, Mr. Dr. discovered that she had a back tooth that needed to come out, and it had three roots, so that had to be done surgically. When BeBe came home last night, she felt turrible. (That is not a misspelling. Turrible is worse than terrible.) So, to make her feel better, I found a movie we could watch together: "Snow Dogs." She perked up a little.

Anyhow, we decided that we both would like to be snowdogs, because I don't mind the cold and BeBe has a bunch of sweaters and coats. We know that winter is a long way away, though, so we are going to start a Snowdog Summer Training Camp, the frst of its kind in our part of the country. Today we started designing our sled, which we will pull over grass. We're going to make it out of one of mom's baking pans and get Evil Squirrel to ride in it to keep it from bouncing around.

Our only disagreement is who should be the lead dog. BeBe thinks it should be her, because she is fastfastfast and has racing experience. I think it should be me because I'm a natural leader, and I won't stop at the gate every time a cat shows up to visit. We'll have to work that out.

Still, if you have any furry friends who would like to be snowdogs, tell them about Me 'n Bebe's Snow Dog Summer Training Camp. This is going to be great.

Dearest MissLizbit, this sounds like the greatest training camp ever, even better than soldierdog camp. I liked Snow Dogs and can easily see how it would be inspiring. I would register Casey and Annie on the spot, but they would both be about as unsuitable a snow dog as you can be and still live in Colorado. Casey doesn't mind the cold, but she would never take to the harness and would insist on circling the sled, making sure everybody was safe from intruders and other dangers. Annie still isn't 100% light on her feet.

I almost never disagree with Dearest Lizbit, but I have to agree with BeBe that she would be a better leader because she is so speedy. Otherwise she would be running over you all the time and tangling the traces -- very inefficient.

I hope BeBe's toofs feel much better today and you can start training camp soon.

I think if you girls practice hard, Santa might ask you to fill in for a few of his reindeer this year....

You can even pull the sled over the hail that you'll be getting.

Excellent idea, Lizbit! However, my four footers are of the feline persuasion, and ambition is not their strong suit. And I do not relish the thought of being a two-footer scratching post should I attempt any endeavor involving a harness.

I hope all turribleness is short-lived, with plenty of head scritches for all of you four footers from Unca T-Bone.

So why did I see snowflakes in the air for most of today, then?

It came down hard enough to cover the ground, at one point...

Can I come and watch you?

I cannot be a snow doggie but I am very good at watching.
