Hmmm. I kept wondering why something didn't look right every time I read posts.

I checked my user profile, and my avatar is still there. Give me a sec, and I'll see if I can find out what happened.

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
