things that go bump in the night

#1 Post by earendel » Wed Oct 29, 2014 12:02 pm

Last night after elwing went to bed, just as she was nodding off she heard a noise in the kitchen. She waited, then heard it again, a little louder. She got up and went to investigate. She found a trail of brown powder leading from our pantry into the laundry room and when she went in there she found a raccoon sitting atop our washing machine, a box of brownie mix in its paws. The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds, then when elwing moved, the raccoon dropped the box and scurred up the vent for the water heater through a small opening in the ceiling. So now we are apparently sharing our lodgings with a raccoon.

Let's just say, it wouldn't have been me who went to investigate!

Mr. Ear, me and my sis BeBe can take care of that little problem for you. Plus, my mom has a shovel and it's loaded.

I have noticed that raccoons look a little bit like possums in the rhinonasalnosey area, so I am considering the possibility that the masked creatures are interplanetary hybrids between aliens from Planet Possum and Earthling cats.

Me and BeBe love brownies even more than learning to speak raccoodle.

Ear, you want to get the varmint out of the roof immediately, plus all its kin if they're there, as you probably already know. Someone dear to me is looking at major repair from what may have been an initial racoon incursion.

A shovel would have taken care of that problem.... but who could possibly strike such a cute little raccoon.....?

The Boyz tell me that they would have tag-teamed him for you Ear, if they could have figured out how to open the apartment door....
