CBS Releases New Schedule

The schedule is complicated by the fact that CBS is televising Thursday night football until the end of October. The biggest news is that the former two-hour comedy block on Monday nights is being trimmed to one hour. CBS has not been competitive at 10 the last couple of years and they hope to change it by moving NCIS Los Angeles into that slot. This will be the last season of Two and a Half Men, and CBS has only ordered one edition of The Amazing Race, so look for Undercover Boss to return later. Mike & Molly and The Mentalist are listed as being on the fall schedule but there's no official slot for them, so they will probably be used out of the bullpen to replace a failed series. Mike & Molly was held out this season as well but after We Are Men got yanked after two episodes, they wound up with a full 22-episode season. CBS doesn't want to put new series on Sunday when shows often start late because they are afraid of losing an audience, so look for CSI Cyber to begin after the start of the year.
