Just did my first pass at my taxes

#1 Post by BackInTex » Sun Mar 02, 2014 6:18 pm

Well, not really. I still owe money, though. Sort of an expected amount, though of course I'd like it to be much less.

I need to figure out what the marginal tax rate is for my wife. Maybe I don't want to know. She may be costing me money. :?

Anybody getting a unexpected surprise to the good?
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.
~~ Thomas Jefferson

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

A good result would be to realistically talk about replacing the IRS and income taxes with something that is less stressful, complicated, time consuming and more fair and equitable. But that is not part of fundamental transformation, is it? The Ruling Elite in Washington would NEVER give up that power. And we just go along with it. We can't require people to actually have ID cards to vote, that would be discriminatory and an undue burden, but we can require them to go through all this insane paperwork every year. Makes sense to me....

Not everybody. As I recall, the 1040EZ is quick and easy to use. --Bob

Well, remember, Bob, less than half of the American people pay taxes, so the majority of people don't even have to fill that one out, right?
