Yahoo COO Gets $29 Million Severance after 14 Months on Job

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Mon Jan 20, 2014 11:27 am

Yahoo fired COO Henrique de Castro after 14 months on the job because the company was disappointed with his efforts to grow the company. De Castro is going away with a severance package worth $29 million (mostly in company stock) and total compensation of $109 million for doing a mediocre job. Nice work if you can get it.

I thought what Georgia Tech paid basketball coach Paul Hewitt was ridiculous when they fired him, but at least they got a trip to the NCAA Championship game out of him.

I wonder how much of a severance package McDonald's gives people they fire after 14 months for doing a mediocre job.
