WGN America, Chicago superstation's WGN foray into independent programming a la TNT and TBS, has announced three new series including an updated version of the Ten Commandments. This version will be an anthology from ten different directors, each illustrating one of the commandments. So far, they have lined up Gus Van Sant, Lee Daniel, Jim Sheridan, Wes Craven, and Michael Cera (I'm curious to know which commandments Craven and Cera will take on). This project should not be confused with Ridley Scott's upcoming big budget Christmas release Exodus, which features Christian Bale as Moses, Joel Edgerton as Rameses, Aaron Paul as Joshua, and Ben Kingsley and SIgourney Weaver in supporting roles.
Also from WGN will be Manhattan, a summer series about the Manhattan Project, and Salem, about a hunt for real witches during the days of the Salem witch trials (sort of a Puritan version of the X-Files).

There's a nice bit of revisionist history.silverscreenselect wrote:Also from WGN will be ... Salem, about a hunt for real witches during the days of the Salem witch trials (sort of a Puritan version of the X-Files).
