Heroes thread (spoilers)

#1 Post by MarleysGh0st » Tue Oct 23, 2007 8:30 am

Because a troll was asking...
Spoiler
Not sure I can contribute much to start this thread.

If Parkman's dad isn't the one killing the others in the picture, we still have no clue who is. He certainly does have a nasty power, though.

It was refreshing seeing a couple people--Micah and his cousin, Monica--having fun with their powers, instead of always running from terrible danger. Claire and her new boyfriend had a bit of that last week, sightseeing from the top of the Hollywood sign. I bet the view is pretty great from up there. :)

I was pleased that we didn't have to deal with the supertwins this week. It was also nice to give Claire a rest. This was the first episode she wasn't in. I'm interested in who Kristen Bell's 'daddy' is. I also wouldn't mind seeing Bob joining the deceased. I find the new company ;eader highly annoying.

Which is why he's probably safe, until the end of the season, at least. With HRG now one of the good guys, the show needs a villain representing the company.

I'm glad to see that it appears that Peter will be getting back into the action on this side of the pond rather than being involved in some side story in Ireland. Now if they could just get Hiro back...

Spoiler
Parkman's dad's power is a bit reminiscent of Candice's. Long-lost sister for Parkman?

Is Nichelle Nichol's character in the old photo of the original group? Seems like Nana should have powers, too. Or might she go back even longer ago than that group?

Yeah, who is "Daddy"? And which side are they on? ("That would be telling.")

I am still chuffed that Sylar is still around. DL was only shot in the shoulder. Papa Nakamura just fell off a building. Sylar was stabbed through the heart and spinal column, for cryin' out loud! (Note: I had similar trouble with the original Star Trek, when Kirk's native wife died from internal injuries, yet Bones could keep Spock alive without a brain.)(Note #2: The guy playing Sylar is also playing a young Spock in the upcoming Star Trek film.)
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Well there were different circumstances involved - Miramanee was already dying when McCoy and Spock arrived, too late to help. As for Spock, it was the woman, using the advanced knowledge she gained from the machine, that allowed Spock to survive. Once that was done, it was a simple matter of cybernetics to permit movement.

Spock's brain could survive its own, okay, but you'd think the body would be kaput without it.

I suppose it depends upon how much brain was actually excised. From the way McCoy described what he saw in sick bay, the nerve endings had been sealed, preventing the loss of cerebrospinal fluid; presumably the circulatory system would have been similarly treated. If the medulla and portions of the cerebellum were left behind, they could have kept the autonomic functions of Spock's body going.

Of course one has to wonder why bother taking all that extra care if the brain was not going to be returned.

I wouldn't be in such a hurry to kill me off, I might just turn you into an eggplant.

Spoiler
I have to say that this week seemed like a whole lot of nuthin' to me.

Except that they introduce yet another mystery character, along with her "dad", no doubt the next gimmicky guest star. I expect Shatner to come waltzing in at any moment singing Rocket Man...

Seems clear that Parkman can do what his dad did with a little practice.

Time to move it on a bit.
