I am getting me a new 'puter

#1 Post by peacock2121 » Mon Mar 10, 2008 10:50 am

Dell has a sale.

I ordered what I was told.

It better be as good as this one was when I got it.

This poor guy has really slowed down.

That must be why my stock is up today.

If your computer is running slower, it might be due to spyware. What do you use to detect it?

You have to pledge 10% of your game show winnings to a certain "ministry" to get one of those! :P

I know I have Norton 360 and whatever that stoopid thing AOL does that makes me crazy.

The 'puter guy who set up the other 'puter says it is slow because of something I didn't undertstand. Something about number in the box or something. Anyway - he said I needed a new 'puter. Mine is an antique.

There are plenty of Mac viruses. The reason there aren't more is because they're so unpopular.

You wouldn't be saying that if you bought Apple stock a few years ago.

That's from iTunes, iPod, and iPhone sales, not Macs.

So far. But once college kids start getting the Apple toys, they want to get the computer. Evey college kid in my family (4 of them) has an Apple laptop and two of them have turned their parents on to Apples. The Apple store near me offers weekly tutoring for new buyers. You get one-to-one training for an hour a week for A YEAR for just $100. It's an incredible marketing device for selling computers to seniors ... They told me that they have about a dozen people over the age of 80 in their classes.

I wonder if you're getting the same kind I have. I got a Dell (first time) in December. I think it's an Inspiron? But it's silver! Although the keyboard is black and the monitor is black and silver, so it's a blended family.

Inspirons are the desktop units, Latitudes are the notebooks.

For sure, ear? I am using an Inspiron 600m laptop to type this. However, it is nearly 5 years old. Mebbe the names have changed to fool the cultists.

I could be wrong - I do know that Latitudes are notebooks because I have eight of them in storage cabinets behind my desk (they're loaners when people need to travel or do source selection boards). Our desktops are all Optiplex models, and my home PC is a Dimension. So maybe Inspirons are notebooks, too.
