Does your mom live on Molokai or did she have to travel to another island right after leaving the hospital?

No, she broke her pelvis while visiting on Molokai. Not quite up to the plane ride home to Oahu yet.MarleysGh0st wrote:Good news, christie!christie1111 wrote:She is out of the hospital and resting and recovering on Molokai at her friends house.

Great news, Christie - there are sure worse places to recover! I'm glad she has a friend she can stay with who can help your sister look after her, too.

I'm so glad she's away from the hospital and happy she has a hospitable friend nearby!
How is a fractured pelvis treated in a human being, or is it just a question of taking it easy for a while? I'm asking because when Annie had her broken legs, she also had a fractured pelvis. At that time, the vet said, "That's the least of her problems. We can't put a splint on a pelvis, and she can't move around much anyway, so we'll just let the pelvis heal itself with time."

It was classified as a stable fracture so 'rest and recover' and let it heal.silvercamaro wrote:I'm so glad she's away from the hospital and happy she has a hospitable friend nearby!

Not much to be done so it is just wait it out and get better. I sent her a care package over the weekend with her favorite chocolates and some company products to slather herself with.
That should help a litlle.

Anyway, no one is currently at my Mom's house. Want to rent some property on Oahu for a week or two?
