I feel terrible for the kickers (my brother was a placekicker in college). We either love them or hate them. The rest of the game is always forgotten. Poor Tynes would be right there with Scott if he'd missed that last one. Now he's the new LT all the Giant fans will be talking about for the next few weeks.
I think the Fox guys have used the word "hero" a few times tonight.

It looked like Coughlin was ready to kill him after the first miss. Had he completed the hat trick, I am not sure he would have made it out of the locker room alive. Or even into the locker room alive.kayrharris wrote:Poor Tynes would be right there with Scott if he'd missed that last one.
I do draw some comfort in seeing Tynes make the most of his opportunity to redeem himself. (Not that I am totally disconsolate by any stretch of the imagination; although I am a Packer fan, I do not take it to the level of a good portion of the population of my fair state...)
The best team definitely won tonight. Kudos to the Giants, and good luck in two weeks.

Me, too. Scott, we hardly knew ye.Scott Norwood wrote:I sure wish I'd have gotten three chances to kick the game winner...
Sigh!
Meanwhile, dumdum Favre probably cost me several Cs in fantasy land. But he did it HIS WAY. So, there's that.
Meanwhile, yay Pats!!1 I am officially in love with Wes Welker.

Thanks. Thanks a lot. I've been reminded of this quite enough, thank you. It is one of two reasons why I cannot ever bring myself to root for the Giants with any sincerity (the other being their continuing to call themselves NEW YORK Giants rather than New Jersey). I still hold a grudge (even though I fully admit that Parcells completely outcoached Levy).Scott Norwood wrote:I sure wish I'd have gotten three chances to kick the game winner...

Of course, I cannot root for the Patriots either...same division means twice a season beatdowns, plus Randy Moss seems to have infected the team with an arrogance I didn't perceive prior to this season..maybe it was there before and I just didn't notice it. I won't get into the signal-stealing because I highly doubt they're the only team to do it...although it sure seemed like overkill (like Nixon and Watergate..why "cheat" when you're so far ahead of everyone else in the competition)?
So...Patriots/Giants, eh?
Think I'll pop in my dvd of the Bills' Miracle Comeback against the Oilers and make believe it's the "good ol' days".
